Remarkably Bright Creatures Title Sequence
ConceptUsing iconography from the novel, we aimed to capture the adventurous nature of Marcellus and the story as a whole.
For this project I got to work with 2 graphic designers to help develop visuals as well as custom typefaces for this title sequence. It was quite an interesting experience to hear their input when it came to the overall feel of the title sequence.
We started with some mood boards to get the feel of the project.
We knew we wanted to look at aquariums as inspiration to capture the energy of the book.
Once we got an idea of the story we wanted to tell with the title sequence I started sketching a storyboard.
As I was developing the storyboard I thought it would be helpful to layout the colors and type since it would be crucial to the title sequence.
Once assets were created I was able to teach some animation techniques to my graphic designers, and it was a learning experience for all of us because I had to re-wire my thinking in order for them to understand what I was teaching them.
